This section shows my character design explorations for the protagonist 'Shasta' from my personal project based on CS Lewis’s novel ‘The Horse and His Boy’ (progressing from bottom to top)
Step 5 - I added color and texture along with some finalized expressions, and also did a silhouette of the character to make sure his design was distinct and identifiable
Step 4 - I then applied these proportions into a few scenes to make sure they worked next to the other characters.
Stage 3 - I eventually arrived at a height and set of proportions I liked, and blocked in some basic values.
I also explored Shasta's head shape, facial features, and expressions. The character is supposed to be emaciated but still strong, so I tried to hold onto a lot of the tendon and sinew lines in my rough sketches.
